Day Off

I have been working hard these past few week, so I am declaring today a day of rest or trying to anyway. My body needs a break, but my mind wants to hit the road and get a run in. Going to listen to the body, for now anyway.

Hope everyone is having a blessed day.

Didnt post yesterday, but did manage to hit the gym after a morning of shopping. Most people refer to the day after thanksgiving as black Friday. I prefer not to use that reference as a Christian the black Friday I've come to know is when Christ was led to the cross to die for me that's what I'm thankful for.

Hope everyone enjoyed their family and didn't eat too much. Today's a beautiful day so get moving!

Happy thanksgiving!

Well today is traditionally a day to relax and spend time with family and friends. Today I opted to worship first and let God what I'm thankful for and since it was so nice out I hit the road to get some miles in.

Today I ran through my old neighborhood and got to see how some things changed and some things stayed the same. I'm thankful that God keeps me and is currently allowing me find myself through him.

What are you thankful for this year?

Pre-thanksgiving!

The day before thanksgiving don't get so busy you don't get a workout in. I hit the gym at 6am because I knew I had a full day. The day is not over, if you haven't gotten a workout in there is still time. Get moving, even if it's for 20 minutes. Remember, something beats nothing.

Until tomorrow, be blessed!

Preparation!

One way to be consistent is to be prepared for tomorrow's workout, I do this by putting my workout gear at the foot of the bed so its ready when I wake up. Knowing what you're going to accomplish for the week is helpful too so write it down if you must, but at a minimum you should have something in your head and execute it at the gym.

Happy Tuesday and remember to keep moving, its the key to a long life. I'm off to the gym in the rain.

Happy Monday!

I'm a morning workout person, but today I'm getting a late start. I somehow have gotten sidetracked by my laptop and the tv. Good news is that after I finish typing this, I'm dressed and off to the gym, its always best to have a plan before hitting the gym that way you're more likely to have a good workout rather then floating around the gym trying to figured it out.

With that said, today will be Biceps/Abs and an hour of cardio. What on your agenda?

Happy Sunday!

Its a beautiful day out, if you're a runner you should hit the road hard and make the best of it.

Today was leg day for me so I hit the gym and the treadmill, boring to say the least so do take advantage of the weather by getting outside if you can. I may head out for round two after half-time. Enjoy your Sunday and hope your team wins!

Today's Motivation!

About an hour and 36 minutes into today's cardio workout! The goal is 2 hours, today's motivator is pandora radio a little over 20 minutes to go then it's abs and a trip to dunkin' for a mint hot chocolate my new favorite.

Have a blessed day and get up and find your motivator!

Today's workout was good, got my cardio on as I look around the gym and see different personalities, smell cologne on some wondering why :-) Working out is sometimes that much harder when the people in your immediate surrounding don't seem motivated and today was one of those days.

Why do you work out and what keeps you motivated?

Faith and Fitness

I am of the Baptist Faith and I attend weekly service and listen to sermons that help me grow spiritually, but as I look around the sanctuary I see that we have people that aren't physically in shape and I believe that physical health is equally as important as spiritual health. I'd like to be on the earth longer if possible so I can continue to worship and grow both spiritually, mentally and physically.

Wondering why "most" churches do not incorporate fitness options for the congregations as well to promote growth in physical arena?

Not promoting my faith, just looking for input and suggestions how this can be incorporated without offending anyone.
